Originality Still Wins in the Age of AI

Originality Still Wins in the Age of AI
I keep seeing posts that say something like:“I asked AI for 10 business plans, and now I’m ready to launch my startup tomorrow.

Yes, AI can generate a business plan. That part is true. But let’s be real—how many of those plans were tested? How many were pragmatic? Because one thing you quickly learn about AI is this: its outputs are designed to sound confident, not necessarily correct.

And even if the business plan is valid, who’s going to execute it? AI won’t give you the day-to-day, hour-to-hour grind. It won’t map the late nights, the emotional resilience, the countless pivots, or the grit it takes to keep a company alive. That part is still human.

That’s why I believe in this: AI is an accelerator, not a substitute for originality.

Originality as the Multiplier

I use LLMs every day. They’re wonderful. But not for replacing thought. My ideas, my perspectives, my originality—that’s the starting point. The LLM just makes me faster. It’s like having a sharp editor, not a ghostwriter.

Take our robot as an example. We didn’t just grab a generic AI avatar. We worked with a 3D artist, designed the robot with intent, produced multiple renders, and then trained a model on those originals. Now, generating new scenes is effortless. But the originality—the spark—was ours.

The same goes for my writing. This blog, for instance, starts with my reflections and voice. The LLM helps sharpen, expand, and accelerate. But without originality, all you get is polished sameness

The Blind Spot in the Hype

Here’s what worries me: in the hype around LLMs, some people are unconsciously dismissing originality. They see the tool and forget the seed. They believe output equals execution. But AI can’t give you lived experience. It can’t give you the creative leap that comes from a walk at 2 a.m., or the intuition that guides a tough decision.

AI gives speed. Originality gives meaning. Without both, you’re just running fast in circles.

AI sounds confident, but confidence is not the same as truth. And without originality, truth quickly gets lost in noise.

The Real Equation

So, here’s the equation I trust:

Original Idea → Human Perspective → AI as Accelerator → Distinctive Output

Not the other way around.

Because the companies, creators, and thinkers who remember this will stand out. Everyone else will drown in lookalike plans, generic avatars, and content that feels mass-produced.

Why This Matters

We are living in an AI-driven age. But originality—your thought, your design, your grit—remains the rarest currency. AI can amplify it, but it can’t replace it.

That’s why I’ll keep saying it: Originality still wins. Always.
